“This floor doesn’t have a name, just “Floor 4242.”
It looks like a typical office floor. A carpeted hallway with a few wooden doors off either side. At the end is a small reception area with a few seats for waiting, a potted palm tree except instead of leaves it seems to be growing towels, and a couple of what looks like water coolers, except one has little yellow fish swimming in it and it’s labeled “Bablefish dispenser.” This is what the receptionist looks like.
On the left hand wall (from the elevators) the doors are marked:
- “Magarathea,” where you can make your own custom planets. The Sunday Shop is a frequent customer.
- “Ursa Minor Beta,” fabulous resort planet and home to Megadodo Publications.
- “Damogran” – another vacation planet, recently becoming popular since being the home to the Heart of Gold project, and since most people are getting tired of Ursa Minor Beta.
- “Earth” – Mostly harmless.
On the right hand wall the doors are mark:
- “Infinite Improbability Generator” – instantly go anywhere in this universe (or any other, for that matter). Training is required before use (see receptionist).
- “Tardis” – nobody is sure how this got here.
- “Vogon Poetry Reading” – avoid, avoid.
- “Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal” – generally avoid, but a good place to escape being forced into the Vogon Poetry Reading room.”
