Come up to the Tower Aquarium and Invertebrate Specimen Collection on floor 831 anytime you like and I’ll make you a cup of my favourite single estate Sri Lankan tea. As the Tower’s resident Oceanographer (or one of them anyway. At least, I haven’t run across any others as far as I’m aware), I keep a large collection of deep sea invertebrates and fish specimens on my floor. The live fish collection rivals the Monterey Bay Aquarium and all of my fish eat ceiling pancakes so they’re easy to care for. Also, since we’re a private institution, we don’t get a lot of traffic. There are lots of big cushy chairs and couches with reading lights all around so you can just sit with a nice cup of tea and watch the fishies or read a book while pretending like you’re a mermaid. Its quite lovely up here.
